Spring in the Colorado high country can bring snow, rain, wind or beautiful calm, cool days. Afternoon thunderstorms are not out of the question. Since Snow Mountain Ranch is at an elevation of 8800 ft, average daytime highs for the end of May are 65 degrees with nights dipping to freezing. Depending on the winter snow pack, meadows may be filled with wildflowers or melting snow. Check the weather forecast before you leave but be prepared for anything.
Clothing
Outerwear
You can probably leave your warmest winter coat at home but do bring a winter jacket for cold nights. Layers are a good choice. A wooly hat and mittens could keep you warm and happy. Bring a sun hat for daytime excursions. Definitely bring raingear. If you are planning to enjoy the campfire, be prepared for that smoky smell.
Casuals
Pack your comfortable weekend clothes. You'll probably want a combination of sporty clothes and casual clothes for different activities. There's a good chance you will want to clean up before dinner on Saturday night. Sunday night is semi-formal.
Shoes
Sturdy shoes are a must since you will be outdoors on a ranch. The roads are not paved so be prepared for mud. If you will be enjoying some of the athletic games, bring appropriate shoes. To keep your socks clean while indoors, you may want to bring a pair of slippers.
Swimsuit and flipflops
It won't be warm enough for outdoor swimming but Snow Mountain Ranch has a large indoor pool. Also, the nearby town of Hot Sulphur Springs (15 miles north on highway 40) offers natural hot spring pools. Click here for the Hot Sulphur Springs website.
